Thanks to the many volunteers who host PM2.5 measuring stations in their homes, schools, health centers, offices, and businesses. Thanks also to AirGradient, CMU CCDC DustBoy, and AirVisual/IQAir for donating many stations. Together, we can beat the PM2.5 pollution problem!

The details: AQI values are all based on PM2.5 particle pollution measurements. We use the 2024 US EPA AQI standard breakpoints (not the 2012 US EPA AQI standard breakpoints, nor the China or other standard breakpoints) to convert from ug/m3 pollution raw concentrations to AQI, which is consistent with how IQAir/AirVisual, AirGradient, PurpleAir, AirNow, CCDC/DustBoy and other major sites all show AQI as of March 2025. AQI and temperature values shown for each hour are the maximum values seen during that hour, in cases where there was more than one measurement from a given station in a given hour, with spurious values over 2200 AQI filtered out so they do not affect the average. The "Overall Average" station averages these max hourly values from all stations that had a measurement for that hour. AQI and temperature values shown are neither 24-hour-averaged nor NowCast-averaged. All AQI and temperature values shown have been adjusted for greater accuracy based on humidity and temperature as recommended by each sensor manufacturer (example).
